Have you been following along with April the Giraffe? We are so excited that she finally had her baby! In honor of April and her new little one, today we are sharing an Easy Paper Giraffe Craft for Kids! It’s easy, fun, and perfect for little hands.

Easy and Simple Giraffe Craft for Kids

Crafts are such a sweet way to celebrate holidays, events, and celebrations. The cute thing about this craft is that the giraffe really stands up, making it perfect for imaginative play.

Supplies Needed To Make This Craft You Will Need

• yellow dot marker and brown dot daubers
• yellow cardstock
• 2 regular clothespins and 1 mini clothespin
• extra small wiggly eyes
• scissors
• white school glue
• black felt tip pen

Directions To Make This Giraffe Craft

Step 1

After gathering supplies, trace and cut 2 circles—1 small circle for the giraffe head and 1 large circle giraffe body.

Step 2

Use the brown dot art marker to make the yellow circles look like giraffe fur.

Note:

Alternatively if you don’t have access to brown dot markers you can use yellow and brown paint to paint the circles or yellow paper and brown paper and cut out the little circles and stick them on.

Step 3

Use both the yellow and brown dot markers to dye the clothespins.

Step 4

Place the extra tiny wiggly eyes on the small circle, and use the black marker to draw a nose and mouth under them.

Note:

Don’t have a black marker? You can also use a black pencil or black crayon.

Step 5

Last, use yellow scrap paper to cut ears and the giraffe’s horns on the top of the head.

Step 6

Attach them to the back of the giraffe’s head with white school glue.

Step 7

Glue the giraffe head to the small clothespin, then clip it to the large circle.

Step 8

Clip the large clothespins to the large circle to be the giraffe’s legs.

Step 9

Last, cut a tail for the giraffe from scrap cardstock.

Step 10

Glue it to the back of the giraffe, being sure to fray the ends with scissors.

Isn’t it cute? Invite kids to make several for a pretend play zoo! It is a great fine motor skill practice and promotes pretend play using only basic supplies.
