Easy & Cute Fall Popsicle Stick Crafts: Popsicle Stick Scarecrow & Turkey

The fall popsicle stick crafts we are featuring today include a scarecrow made with popsicle sticks and a popsicle stick turkey craft. Both easy popsicle crafts are great for kids of all ages and adults. They use just a few simple supplies including craft sticks and can be completed in less than 20 minutes.

This kids craft is really fun for any age. My preschooler had a blast imitating my craft stick craft as we were doing it. Preschool crafts aren’t perfect, but that is the beauty of letting your kids explore their creativity on their own!

How to Make Fall Popsicle Stick Crafts

Supplies Needed for Fall Popsicle Crafts

• popsicle sticks or craft sticks
• Kwik Stix Tempura Paint Sticks or tempura paint and a brush
• glue
• card stock paper

Directions for Popsicle Stick Scarecrow Craft

Our first project was a popsicle stick scarecrow.

Step 1 – Craft Stick Scarecrow

We glued the popsicles sticks together by cutting a square of cardstock paper and gluing the popsicle sticks side by side onto that paper.

This helped the keep the craft sturdy.

We used 6 popsicle sticks glued parallel on the card stock backing with one popsicle stick glued ad a diagonal for the hat brim of the scarecrow. We found with this scarecrow craft, it was fine to arrange and glue down the popsicle sticks prior to painting.

Step 2 – Craft Stick Scarecrow

Then we picked out our paint colors and got to painting! I went with traditional fall colors while my preschooler was a little more adventurous with her painting colors.

Step 3 – Craft Stick Scarecrow

After that, we cut out the nose, eyes, and hair for the scarecrow using cardstock.

Then we painted the card stock. You could also use colored card stock or construction paper instead of painting.

Once we glued on the scarecrow’s face we used a marker to draw on a scarecrow smile and we were finished! It was such a fun craft to do together and it took minimal supplies!

Directions for Popsicle Sticke Turkey Craft

We ended up with leftover popsicle sticks so we decided to try out making our own popsicle stick turkeys as well.

Step 1 – Craft Stick Turkey

With the same materials, we painted the popsicle sticks and then glued them together. We used three parallel popsicle sticks glued to a card stock back for the turkey head and body.

We found it easiest to attach the turkey feathers with glue after they were painted.

Step 2 – Craft Stick Turkey

We painted the turkey body brown and the turkey feathers (unattached) yellow, red and orange.

Step 3 – Craft Stick Turkey

Then we used the card stock again to cut out the turkey eyes and beak and glued the eyes, beak and feathers onto the popsicle stick turkey body.
